Dan Aykroyd (Blues Brothers)
The Dan Aykroyd celebrity doll depicts him as Elwood Blues from The Blues Brothers band. The doll is from the Nostalgic Series of dollc made by Exclusive Premiere (Exclusive Toy Products) in 1997. A Jake Blues (John Belushi) figure was also made.
The dolls were sold only in Target stores. The Elwood doll came with a microphone and harmonica. The Jake doll came with a microphone and saxophone.
The Blues Brothers are an American blues and soul revivalist band founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live. After Belushi’s death in 1982 the band continued to play with Aykroyd and guest musicians. The bank reformed with John Goodman to make the 1998 sequel movie The Blues Brothers 2000 with Goodman as Mack Blues.
The Celebrity Doll Museum also has the Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) and Mack (John Goodman) dolls from The Blues Brothers 2000 series as well as the Dan Aykroyd figure from Ghostbusters as Dr. Raymond Stantz.
The doll has a ELWOOD tattoo across his fingers with a letter on each one, ELWO on his right hand and OD on his left hand.
The doll is around 9 inches tall. The hat and glasses are permanently on the dolls head. The outfit of thin black cotton suit silver buckled black belted pants can be removed. There is a long sleeved collared button up white shirt that opens in the front with velcro. Black shoes and white painted on socks are also permanently part of the doll legs.
