The Barack Obama celebrity plush doll portrays him as himself, the 44th President of the United States, author, and lawyer.  Obama was the first African American President.  The soft plush doll was made by The Unemployed Philosophers Guild in 2019 and is part of the Little Thinker collection and sells for $18.95 at www.philosophersguild.com.  The museum also has the DID 1/6 scale President Barack Obama doll in the collection and the Michelle Obama plush doll.

Barack H. Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States, and was the first African-American to hold the office. His notable achievements included a stimulus package that saved the nation from another Great Depression, as well as the passage of universal health insurance. He took a progressive stance on gay rights, immigration, taxation, and gun control. Obama is a Nobel Peace Prize winner and author of three books.

The Barack Obama doll wears a navy blue cotton business suit with three embroidered black front buttons.  The jacket is sewn closed but could be taken off by pulling it over the doll’s large head.  The pants have an elastic waist and can be taken off.  A sewn on white shirt collar with red tie along with the white upper body finish off the costume.   Black felt shoes are sewn on the black lower half of the body.

The gray hair is very soft, short faux fur and the black eyes and eyebrows and orange-ish lips with white teeth are embroidered on the head.  The round nose and ears are stuffed and sewn on.  The plush doll is weighted and stuffed to sit on its own at the edge of a shelf and give the appearance the doll is standing.

The plush Barack Obama doll comes packaged in a plastic bag and has a biographical tag attached to the lapel of the suit jacket.
