Michelle LaVaughn Robinson graduated cum laude from Princeton University and Harvard Law School, practiced law in her native Chicago, then left private practice for public service — including city government and youth leadership programs. The Michelle Obama doll comes wearing a purple velvet sleeveless evening gown with a plastic crystal pearl necklace.  Both the necklace and dress are tack stitched to the body to keep them in place.  The felt black high heel shoes are sewn it as part of the body.  Underneath the dress the body and sewn in white underwear with lace on the legs.

The  shoulder length styled hair is made of black velvet and sewn on.  The pink lips, white teeth, brown eyes, and black eye brows are embroidered into the face and the round nose is sewn on.   There are no ears. The plush doll is weighted and stuffed to sit on its own at the edge of a shelf and give the appearance the doll is standing.
