Gene Simmons
The Gene Simmons celebrity doll portrays him as himself in full costume and makeup as “The Demon” in the 2012 version of the group Kiss. The action figure was made in 2013 as part of the Series 4 – Monster concert collection by the Figure Toy Company under license from Live Action Nation. Figure Toy Company as of June 2019 is on Series 11 of their 12 inch Kiss action figures-all in full makeup and released for album/concert tours.
The 1977 and 1978 Mego 12 inch vintage versions are the beloved original Kiss dolls that inspired the continued sale of these newer series of twelve inch dolls. Unfortunately the museum has not yet acquired these hard to find dolls.
The knee high boots come off. They go on easily over the nylon stockings under the leotard. Some of the rubber armor like pieces of the costume could probably be pulled off, but putting it back might not be so easy. Seems to be just the leotard underneath.
The doll comes with a 1/6 sized Monster concert t-shirt. The packaging is a plastic clamshell with a KISS zip tie closure. Action figure has 16 points of articulation.
The Celebrity Doll Museumâ„¢ currently has the following Kiss dolls in the collection:
