The Mickey Mantle celebrity doll depicts him as himself as a professional baseball player for the New York Yankees. Mantle played for the Yankees his entire Major League Baseball career and was known for his switch hitting and as one of the best players. The doll was made by Hasbro in the 1997 series of the Starting Lineup Major League Baseball™ Cooperstown Collection. Mantle died on August 13, 1995 at the age of 63.
The action figure comes wearing a Yankee uniform. The one piece jump suit uniform costume has navy blue undershirt sleeves sewn to the uniform sleeves, tiny white buttons, Yankee logo and #7 decals, and snap closures in the front, and a gold buckle black leatherette belt in loops. The blue socks and soft plastic baseball cleats are separate. The entire outfit comes completely off. Accessories include a hard plastic Yankees baseball hat, an unmarked wooden bat, plastic baseball glove, and baseball.
The doll is fully articulated at the wrists, elbows, shoulders, waist, hips, knees, and ankles. The head both twists and tilts.
