Kate Winslet
The Kate Winslet celebrity doll portrays her as the character Rose DeWitt Bukater from the 1997 movie Titanic.
The doll was manufactured by Mattel in 2007 to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the movie. It was designed by Sharon Zuckerman and part of Mattel’s Pink Label Collection.
This doll is thoroughly attached to the insert: sewn, wired, plastic strips, head plastic tied in 3 places and cloth ribbon running underneath the dress and around the body. It is difficult to free it without damaging the doll. The doll’s neck and shoulder joints move in all directions and the legs bend at the knees and move forward and backward until restricted by the costume. Arms and torso are stiff.
The formal empire waist dress is a cranberry red with black lace covered skirt and train and does not come off the doll. There are no snaps or velcro openings, it would have to be cut off to remove it. The dress skirt is stuffed with paper. Green and gold dangled earrings and plastic molded vintage red lace-up stype high heels finish off the iconic Titanic look. The doll comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Mattel and a black and clear doll stand.
