Paramount Pictures’ Audrey Hepburn COLLECTION
Black Evening Gown
As a tribute to the life and career of one of the world’s most beloved women, we are proud to present the very first Audrey Hepburn doll to be authorized by the Audrey Hepburn Estate. This extraordinarily beautiful collection begins with a series of dolls and fashions inspired by Paramount Pictures’ Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Born May 4, 1929, in Belgium, Audrey, the daughter of a Dutch baroness and an English banker, faced many hardships early in life. Moving to England after World War II, Audrey won a dance scholarship, modeled and appeared in a number of European films. While shooting one of those, Audrey was discovered by the famous novelist, Colette, who chose Audrey to star in the Broadway version of her novel. Audrey’s celebrated filmed career soon followed… and the rest is motion picture history!
In 1988, Audrey Hepburn began her role as a goodwill ambassador and spokesperson for children in crises, winning many awards for her work. Her good works continue to be honored today through the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund (Look for booklet inside this package for more information about the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund).
Today, Audrey Hepburn is still one of the loveliest stars of her time. With mesmerizing doe-eyes, and a spirited ever-chic gamine style, she is a breath of fresh air as the vulnerable, but daring Holly Golightly in Paramount Pictures’ Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Wearing her signature black gown, opera length gloves and chic sunglasses, Audrey as the enigmatic Holly, makes a breakfast on the sidewalk looks like a natural, but royal thing to do! Audrey Hepburn touches our hearts and brings a sophisticated innocence, grace, whimsy, and elegance to the definition of femininity for all time.
Her black and white gown was designed by Givenchy. The doll comes with a stand and an official Mattel Certificate of Authenticity.
