Brooklyn-born activist Bernard “Bernie” Sanders earned a B.A. at the University of Chicago and an arrest for protesting school segregation. He moved to Vermont, lost four campaigns, then was elected Mayor of Burlington (4 terms), U.S. Congressman (8 terms), and U.S. Senator (3 terms). A self-described Democratic Socialist, Bernie Sanders served longer in Congress than any independent, running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 and 2020 on “economic, racial, social and environmental justice for all.”

The plush doll comes wearing a navy blue business suit with removable elastic waisted pants and jacket. Underneath is a light blue shirt and blue tie. The shirt is sewn in as part of the upper body.  The felt black shoes are sewn in as part of the stuffed body which is pink skin toned from the waist down to the shoes.

The face is embroidered with brown eyes, red lips, open mouth with teeth, brown square rimmed glasses, and white eye brows.  The stuffed round nose and stick out ears on sewn on.  The disheveled iconic hair is white faux fur. 

The doll is stuffed and weighted so it sits up and balances on the bottom of the doll’s butt.
