The Jeon Jung-kook celebrity doll depicts him at 22 years old as Jungkook, s a South Korean singer, songwriter and record producer in the South Korean K-pop group BTS managed under Big Hit Entertainment.  The doll was released by Mattel in September 2019 and is one of seven in  BTS Prestige collection styled after their LOVE YOURSELF 結  Version S album jacket photos. The deluxe dolls were release in black boxes at a retail price of $50.00.

The 2019 Mattel Prestige BTS dolls star in a reenactment of the BTS Episode of the LOVE YOURSELF 結  album jacket photo shoot. Mattel made celebrity dolls with the Version S outfits worn for the Love Yourself: Answer album photos as seen in the red box section of their photo shoot episode.

BTS was founded in 2013 and has made it to the top of the charts in the US and UK as well as in Asia. BTS is short for Bangtan Sonyeondan which translates to “Bulletproof Boy Scouts” and informally as Bangtan Boys.  The entire set of both the IDOL and Presitige dolls is represented in the Celebrity Doll Museum.

The Junkook Version S outfit is a military style uniform look.  The jack is a soft red and black felt type bomber style jacket with knitted cuffs and gold plastic shoulder embellishments.  The right side of the front is black with gold decoration and the left red side has black painted designs with gold rivets.  Underneath is a long sleeved white cotton shirt with pleats and ruffles down the half open front Tiny crystal two buttons are at the top and snaps close the lower half.  A gold cummerbund goes around the waist. A two strand plastic gold necklace hangs down under the open white shirt.

The black pants have a front fly with a single snap and real pockets. A black plastic belt foes around the waist and wraps around the right thigh 3 times with gold buckles and many gold rivets.

On the feet are chunky black plastic shoes silver and gold painted rivet decor near the laces and nicely molded boot type soles. No socks under the shoes and skin toned underwear is molded into the body. 

The dark brown eyes and rose lips are painted through some kind of textured dot matrix printing,  The two toned pink and brown rooted hair is well styled and sprayed with product to hold it in place.  The doll’s head is stamped with ©2019 MATTEL at the neckline.

The 11 point articulation is somewhat limited for dance poses. Head rotates and tilts slightly down but doesn’t go up.  The body/waist  is fixed, the shoulders rotate around but hit a stop and must be reversed to position. The hips articulate only forward and back but not side to side.  Knees, elbows, ankles, and wrists bend and twist.  The ankles rotate in all directions which makes it easier to balance and stand the doll. The doll has extra long lower legs.

The Jungkook doll comes in solid black box with silver BTS motif. The back has a photo of the K-pop group from the Love Yourself album jacket photo shoot. The doll comes with a black plastic stand with a grab the thigh clear post.
