The Park Ji-min celebrity doll depicts him at 23 years old as Jimin, a South Korean singer, songwriter and dancer in the South Korean K-pop group BTS managed under Big Hit Entertainment record label. The doll was released by Mattel in September 2019 and is one of seven in  BTS Prestige collection styled after their LOVE YOURSELF 結 Version S album jacket photos. The deluxe dolls were release in black boxes at a retail price of $50.00.

The 2019 Mattel Prestige BTS dolls star in a reenactment of the BTS Episode of the LOVE YOURSELF 結 album jacket photo shoot. Mattel made celebrity dolls with the Version S outfits worn for the Love Yourself: Answer album photos as seen in the red box section of their photo shoot episode.

BTS was founded in 2013 and has made it to the top of the charts in the US and UK as well as in Asia. BTS is short for Bangtan Sonyeondan which translates to “Bulletproof Boy Scouts” and informally as Bangtan Boys.  The entire set of both the IDOL and Prestige dolls is represented in the Celebrity Doll Museum.

The Jimin Prestige/Version S replica outfit consists of black, silver, and pink outfit.  The bottom is  pink satin pants with silver silver chains hanging and sewn into the right pant leg at the thigh. The top is a pullover black and silver crew neck jumper that Vecros down the back for removal with a long sleeved collared and breast pocket matching pink shirt underneath and a simple pink tie around the neck.  A plastic shirt protective layer is between the shirt and outer garment to give it body and protect it presumably from the black dye discoloring it.

On the feet are black plastic Ken sized dress shoes with a glitter red heart and silver arrow painted on the front. The laces and inside rims of the shoes are also trimmed with red. No socks under the shoes and skin toned underwear is molded into the body. 

The brown eyes and shiny pink lips are painted through some kind of textured dot matrix printing,  The chocolate brown rooted hair is well styled and sprayed with product to hold it in place.  The doll’s head is stamped with ©2019 MATTEL at the neckline.

The 11 point articulation is somewhat limited for dance poses. Head rotates and tilts slightly down but doesn’t go up.  The body/waist  is fixed, the shoulders rotate around but hit a stop and must be reversed to position. The hips articulate only forward and back but not side to side.  Knees, elbows, ankles, and wrists bend and twist.  The ankles rotate in all directions which makes it easier to balance and stand the doll. The doll has extra long lower legs and the right hand is molded into the special heart gesture.

The Jimin doll comes in solid black box with silver BTS motif. The back has a photo of the K-pop group from the Love Yourself album jacket photo shoot. A black hard plastic stand with a clear thigh-grabbing stand is included.
