The Kim Seok-jin celebrity doll depicts himself at 26 years old as Jin, a South Korean singer an songwriter in the South Korean K-pop group BTS managed under Big Hit Entertainment record label.  The doll was released by Mattel in September 2019 and is one of seven in  BTS Prestige collection styled after their LOVE YOURSELF 結  Version S album jacket photos. The deluxe dolls were release in black boxes at a retail price of $50.00.

The 2019 Mattel Prestige BTS dolls star in a reenactment of the BTS Episode of the LOVE YOURSELF 結  album jacket photo shoot. Mattel made celebrity dolls with the Version S outfits worn for the Love Yourself: Answer album photos as seen in the red box section of their photo shoot episode.

BTS was founded in 2013 and has made it to the top of the charts in the US and UK as well as in Asia. BTS is short for Bangtan Sonyeondan which translates to “Bulletproof Boy Scouts” and informally as Bangtan Boys.  The entire set of both the IDOL and Prestige dolls is represented in the Celebrity Doll Museum.

The Jin doll comes wearing a multi layered all white suit.  The lined fitted suit jacket is made with a white satin decorated with silver embroidered dots. It has slight puffy shoulders, pocket flaps, two flat silver daisy shaped buttons in the front. Around the waist is a soft plastic wide belt embellished with gold paint rivets that attaches in the back. 

Underneath is a soft nylon white long sleeved shirt that opens with snaps at the back. The pointed collar is decorated with multi-colored tiny rhinestones

The pant are a two textured white satin with a tiny blue, orange and yellow flower pattern all over. The front fly opens with a snap and there are two real front pockets. On the feet are plastic silver loafers with black soles. 

No socks under the shoes and skin toned underwear is molded into the body. The right hand is molded into a peace sign.

The brown eyes and natural lips are painted through some kind of textured dot matrix printing,  The two toned butterscotch blond rooted hair is well styled and sprayed with product to hold it in place.  The doll’s head is stamped with ©2019 MATTEL at the neckline.

The 11 point articulation is somewhat limited for dance poses. Head rotates and tilts slightly down but doesn’t go up.  The body/waist  is fixed, the shoulders rotate around but hit a stop and must be reversed to position. The hips articulate only forward and back but not side to side.  Knees, elbows, ankles, and wrists bend and twist.  The ankles rotate in all directions which makes it easier to balance and stand the doll. The doll has extra long lower legs.

The Jin doll comes in solid black box with silver BTS motif. The back has a photo of the K-pop group from the Love Yourself album jacket photo shoot. The doll comes with a black stand with a clear thigh grabbing pole.

The Jin “Idol” outfit on the doll consists of shiny multi-colored large flower patterned suit with jacket and matching pants. Sewn into the suit jacket is a knit white hoodie.  The hoodie is just a front with usable hood in the back.  If removing the clothing, there is no Velco opening. The entire piece must be pulled over the head.  The hoodie material is stretchy enough to get it off without too much effort as long as you protect the hair.  The jacket comes tacked to the front of the pants in two places to hold it in position. Pants are removable with back Velcro fly.  The molded white soft plastic hi-top sneakers have a slit in the back for easy removable. The sneakers have unique right and left foot versions. All the clothing is removable.
