SHURI
The Letitia Wright doll is dressed in a nylon lavender, navy and blue two-piece track suit that resembles the one Shuri wore in Wakanda Forever. The jacket has a high neck with a full length Velcro opening in the front. The sleeves have a banded stretch cuff and real pockets with tiny ribbon flap embellishments on the upper arm. The bottom of the jacket opening has faux string and ball pull ties. The back of the jacket has a large pleated panel down the middle that gives an A-line flare. The two color uniform has many panel to give it a well designed fit and all the seams are well finished.
The pants have an elastic waistband, slightly larger real pockets with tiny ribbon flap embellishments on the outer upper thighs, and banded stretch cuffs at the ankles. On the feet are white soft plastic molded ankle boots with slits up the back for easy removal.
The dolls black hair is styled with Shuri’s relatively short tightly curled front protruding style with cropped hairline and sides done with black paint. The eyes are painted brown with natural medium pink lips.
The doll comes a silver hard plastic helmet with a fixed clear front shield to represent Shuri’s vibranium helmet and a soft plastic beaded bracelet to represent her communication vibranium Kimoyo Beads. The bracelet can be carefully slipped over the hand to remove since is rubbery. The helmet just fits over the doll’s head, but it does mess up the hair when pulled off due to the tight fit. The right hand is molded into a fist and left is open.
The doll is articulated at the neck (tilts forward and back and side to side about 15° in any direction, turns 360°), shoulders (turn 360° and up 90°), elbows (bend up almost 180°), wrists (turn 360° and bend up and down 90° each way), hips (can do splits in either direction, turn 360°, can sit upright with legs together or apart), and knees (bend back almost 180°). Torso and ankles are stiff and the feet while larger than a standard Barbie are in the high heel position. The doll is fairly easy to stand on its own with the sturdy white ankle boots. This doll could have used a turning joint in the upper arm or elbow because unfortunately the doll can’t be posed with a Wakanda salute because the arms won’t move in front of the body.
The World of EPI Shuri doll comes with a Fresh Fierce Collection and Marvel Studio Certificate of Authenticity and a three piece translucent plastic doll stand with an adjustable waist clip.
This is marvelous and exciting. I want to encourage my friends and associates to support this business . Our black community need to know we are children of God and are as powerful as anyone else in this world if we choose to be. These dolls provide a visual motivation to believe in themselves
