Tessa Virtue
The Tessa Virtue celebrity doll portrays her at 29 years old as the Olympic ice dancing pairs and team champion at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. The doll was released in Canada by Mattel on May 10, 2020 and was part of the Barbie’s “Role Models” series.
Virtue is a retired Canadian ice dancer who skated with ice dance partner Scott Moir for 22 years before they retired in 2019. Together they won three Olympic Gold Medals (2010, 2018, one team) and achieved the a Super Slam by winning all major international competitions in their senior and junior careers. They are the most decorated ice dancing team of all time. Unfortunately there was no doll for Scott Moir.

The Tess Virtue doll comes wearing a replica 2018 Olympic one piece crimson, glittered ice dancing dress complete with tights. The dress has a high neck line, open crimson net covered breast line and sleeves, V knee-length hem line, and open back and side cutouts. The entire dress and and skin toned nylon tights are all one piece that can be removed with two Velcro closures on the back. On her feet are a pair of Barbie B marked white figure skates with silver blades.
The dolls face is painted with dark eyeliner, blue eyes and dark red lips with a open mouth. The brunette hair is styles into a heavy product sprayed pony tail like bun in the back at the neck line. In the ears are a pair of silver gray plastic ball studs.
The doll comes with a stand and a Certificate of Authenticity.
The doll is articulated at the neck (tilts and turns), shoulders (turn 360°, arm lifts 90°), elbows (bend 95° and turn 360°), wrists (bend 175° and turn around), hips (forward and backwards 80° and side about 5°), and knees (bend back 90° and turn around). The torso and ankles are fixed.
