The Reese Witherspoon celebrity doll portrays her as the character Elle Woods in the 2003 sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde to the original film Legally Blonde(2001).  The doll was made by Mattel in 2003 in their Collector Editon: Barbie Loves Pop Culture and licensed from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Inc..  Witherspoon and MGM donated a portion of the doll sales proceeds to the Children’s Defense Fund, an organization dedicated to promoting and protecting children’s health, education and welfare.

Witherspoon is an Academy Award winning actress for her role in Walk the Line and a film producer.  A Legally Blonde 3 with Elle as a forty year old is in the works for 2021, but Covid-19 production delays are holding it up.  The movie will recast Reese Witherspoon as Elle and be co-written by Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor.  Perhaps we will see a new Reese Witherspoon celebrity doll in 2022.

The doll is dressed in a Elle Woods replica all pink suit outfit including pearls and comes with toy movie dog Chihuahua, Bruiser (The film dog sadly died in 2016) , a pink and white polka dot bag, pink scarf, staff id badge, pink sandal high heel shoes, and a pink hat.  The doll’s  knees bend, arms are stiff, but neck and shoulders move in all directions.  Included in the box is an unnumbered Certificate of Authenticity and a white based and clear doll stand.

A second Reese Witherspoon celebrity doll has been added to the museum collection-Mrs. Whatsit from the 2018 Disney movie A Wrinkle in Time.
