Anissa Jones
The Anissa Jones celebrity doll portrays her as a child in the role of Ava Elizabeth “Buffy” Patterson-Davis on the sitcom Family Affair on CBS. The show produced 138 episodes and a television movie from 1966-1971.
The doll was made in 1967 by Mattel and is titled Buffy with her special friend Mrs. Beasley as seen on TV’s “Family Affair”. A small toy doll of Mrs. Beasley (Buffy’s favorite doll who she claimed talked to her) is also included. Mattel also sold a life size doll of Mrs. Beasley during that time period.
Tragically, Jones died of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 18 in 1976, just 5 month after receiving her Family Affair trust fund.
As the oldest doll in the Celebrity Doll Museum, the doll has yet to be removed from the packaging. The Museum is in search of a mint copy new in an opened box.
