Emily Blunt celebrity doll depicts her at 35 years old as the character Mary Poppins in the 2018 movie sequel Mary Poppins Returns.  The doll is a Black Label Barbie and was made by Mattel for Disney in 2018 and designed by Carlyle Neura.  Mattel released both the Lin-Manuel Miranda Jack doll and the Emily Blunt Mary Poppins doll as single individual dolls and together as a set. The museum has the Lin-Manuel Miranda doll in the collection.

Mary Poppins Arrives

In Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns,” an all new sequel with a fresh sensibility that celebrates the spirit of the original, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing from their lives.

The Mary Poppins Arrival outfit on the doll consists of a blue striped dress coat with a matching black diamond shaped buckled belt (Velcro attachment in back), a red with black dotted scarf/tie , a plastic purple hat adorned with a orange, white, and silver feathered bird, sensible purple plastic heels, and a simple sleeveless knee-length turquoise dress underneath it all. No underwear, just the cardboard braces on the knees.

The bob length brown hair with a curly bun type thing on the right is heavily sprayed with product to keep it in place.  It could be combed out but you’d lose the hair style.

The outfit can be completely removed and put back on.  Minor one stitch tacking on the scarf and coat to keep it in place.

The doll is articulated at the knees, hip, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and neck (slightly up and down).  Ankles and torso are fixed.  Under the coat both knees are covered with cardboard sleeves to hold the knees stiff for the doll to pose straight up in the box.  The doll is certainly designed for playing and posing with with the extra articulation not usually put into a female character body.

The accessories include the purple plastic hat and a tan and brightly multicolored hard plastic carpet bag.  It is one solid piece and does not open.   It’s weight requires a clear band to hold it in the doll’s hand. Surprisingly, no umbrella.

Includes a doll stand for display and a Mattel Certificate of Authenticity.
