The Florence Griffith-Joyner celebrity doll portrays her as herself, an American track and field athlete. Her nickname was Flo-Jo and she is considered the “fastest woman in the world”. She still holds her 1988 world records for both the 100 meters and 200 meters. She won three gold medals and one silver in the 1988 Seoul Olympics and one silver in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. She died at the age of 38 from epilepsy.
The doll was made by the LJN toy company in 1989. The Flo-Jo doll is wearing her classic blue and pink running suit with a half tight on just one leg. She is wearing white with pink trim sneakers and has pink and blue painted finger nails. Her accessories include tote bag, hairbrush, and colorful life sized Flo Jo nail stickers.
